One thread running through my past jobs in accounting, corporate finance, systems auditing, programming and then technology consulting is that I always enjoyed writing “How To” documentation. Those type of projects satisfied my curiosity to understand how things worked and gave me an opportunity to explain what I learned to others. For example, when I worked as a Senior Manager for Deloitte my favorite type of roles included not only project management but also internal team and client training. When it comes to writing on TechMamas.com, I enjoy all types of topics but similar to my past jobs – I also enjoy explaining how things work. So I decided to do my own series of tech “How To” posts on a weekly basis that will cover everything from streaming content to conquering things I find challenging.
Oh yeah, I am talking to you SNAPCHAT!
What type of tech do you wonder how to use? I would love to hear from my readers on this topic. We are all in this together, so there will be times I can figure out on my own and times I will ask my readers for their tips! Some of the posts will be sponsored but most will just be something I am trying to figure out how to do.
Oh yeah, I am talking to you again SNAPCHAT!
Well, since I keep talking about Snapchat, let me share some of the articles I added to my Social Media and Growth Marketing Flipboard to sit down and read. Snapchat is an image messaging and multimedia mobile application. Many use the mobile app to share “snaps” (photos or videos) and “snapchat stories” (series of photos or videos) with their friends. Brands and businesses are also using Snapchat to connect with their customers in a visual way. When I use a new social media platform, I usually start out by reading the site’s documentation and privacy settings. Snapchat has a section on getting started, using Snapchat and policies & safety to understand privacy. Then I check out some of the special features such as using filters and stickers to add fun effects. I would like to use Snapchat to see the photos and videos my family and friends share and also cover press events with Snapchat stories. For now, I will add this to my list of future “how to” posts as I set out to learn how to use it.

Are you using Snapchat? And if so – for what purpose?
Thank you! I have been wondering about Snapchat. Still not sure if I’m ready to try but at least I now have a starters guide.
