This is an exciting time for smart home automation, which is one of the fastest growing categories in consumer electronics. There is a wide selection of smart devices for the home that are enabled via WiFi, Bluetooth and apps to offer connection and communication options that did not exist before. In the future, everything in the house will be connected. At CES (Consumer Electronics Show) this year, I especially enjoyed visiting the individual booths that showcased the smart home technology. At the same time, I wondered how I would tie all of that technology together to install it in my house. I wondered what devices I needed, which worked together room by room and within the infrastructure of my house. I have been shopping for years at Sears, everything from clothes to appliances and more. So when I was contacted to participate in the Sears Connected Solution campaign, I was not only excited to see what they had to offer but also to find a connected solution for my home.
Sears is launching their Connected Solutions Flagship store in San Bruno, California and then expanding their smart technology assortment to hundreds of stores nationwide. The Connected Solutions store in San Bruno not only features one of the largest cross-category selections of smart technology products in retail today (more than 4,000 square feet !) but also a world class showroom with solutions in the format of rooms within a house. Best yet, Sears trained experts can help customers create the right connected solution, provide installation, tech support, repair and maintenance services.
So my husband and I headed to the Sears San Bruno to check out the Connected Solutions store. We walked over to the appliance area (that we know very well) and were excited to see the Connected Solution store within a store.
The Connected Solutions store has signage for each secction and listings of products to view.
The Simply Automated section has even more information including diagrams of how to shop.
There is a desk area to find out more about consultations and installations.
My husband and I enjoyed learning talking to Sears Experts about how we can finally start to automate our house with smart technology!
One of the areas we started with was home networking devices to power up our smart devices.
The Living section had solutions such as smart thermostats, smart entertainment, outlets and smart lighting.
Smart kitchen technology and appliances are top on my list to check out. Especially innovative devices like a Wi-Fi enabled slow cookers!
I wish I had smart technology such as smart baby monitors and scales when my kids were babies.
The smart health and fitness sections have a great selection of fitness trackers, smart watches, wearables and exercise equipment. This includes new products like the smart basketballs!
The outdoor section includes Bluetooth speakers, smart outlets, home monitoring and smart garage options that gave me hope we can move our garage technology into the 21st century.
The Simply Entertaining area has everything you need for automating home entertainment, including wireless speakers, smart TV technology, home storage and gaming.
Online and in the store you can find out important information about compatibility, which is key to building the right connected solution. This covers smart devices from Amazon (Echo), Nest (Smart Thermostat), Insteon, Logitech, WeMo, Phillips (Hue Lighting), Samsung (SmartThings), Vera and Wink. While you can talk to experts in the store, you can also check out the Sears Connected Solution Knowledge Center online for buying guides and videos.
The Sears Connected Solutions helps bring smart technology to consumers in a simple way that anyone can implement in their own homes. Holidays are a great time to treat yourself, your family and friends to upgraded technology. Everything from smart fitness trackers, wearables, media streaming devices, smart sports devices, gaming consoles, accessories, wireless speakers, smart toys/games, to electronics and networking and more make great gifts. And they can help automate household routines which save time and stress!
