**WINNER OF GIVEAWAY: alanamorales**
I always enjoy when I get to blog about something that is already popular in my house. A few weeks ago, I took my son to the bookstore to see if Book 10 of the 39 Clues series was out yet. He had already read all the other books in the series. The good news is he goes through books quickly. The bad news I am constantly looking for new series for my son to read. I was excited when my son started reading 39 Clues because it was published by Scholastic. I did not see Book 10 at the bookstore so I checked online for the release date (August 31, 2010).
39 Clues is an adventure series published by Scholastic for children ages 8-12 that spans 10 books. The book series also has a website http://www.the39clues.com/ that allows kids to use cards (they get with each book) to find clues through online missions.
The day after a trip to our local bookstore with my son, I received an email about the 39 Clues Blog Tour, asking if I wanted to join in the fun. Of course I said YES! The Blog Tour is a 39 Day Countdown to book #10 and I am the first stop (see a full listing of Blog Tour stops below).
My stop is for 39 Clues Book 1. Here is an exclusive video from Book #1 Author, Rick Riordan:

my avid reader loves adventure series!
My younger brother, my step-nephew, and I all love adventure series! Especially this one.
Oh, man – you are sooooo lucky!
I would love to win this because my kids are OBSESSED with this series. My 7yo has a secret clue notebook that she carries around on her “travels” and my son is still gloating because he is 3 books ahead of me in the series.
I want to win this for my son because he loves to read, especially books that keep him interested and have a lot of action and adventure, and I love that he loves to read as I think it is important for kids to do so.

My almost 11 year old is not the reader of the family. He has a very difficult time finding books that he can stay interested in. I finally found a series, the Percy Jackson series, that he just loves. I think he would really enjoy this series.

I live with my sister and her 2 kids. After an terrific start, my nephew no longer enjoys reading. My sister and I are always on the hunt for books that will hold his interest. Maybe the series will be the one!
Thanks for the chance!

My 8-year-old LOVES these books! But we only have #1 & #2. He sounds like your kid, moving so quickly through books that it is a challenge to keep him in books.
We’d love to win!
My 10 y.o. son would be green with envy if your son got a sneak peek at #10. He LOVES this series and I think it’s interesting that they brought so many authors in to write different parts of the story.
My son also loves the cards and the website.
We will soon be counting the days until book 10 is released. He’ll already be in school when that happens. Hmmm. Maybe a party is in order! Esp. if he wins the set.
This series is an adventurous romp that manages to appeal to all readers and non-readers alike. It’s educational, fun and interactive. Quite a combination!
My 10 YO and I have been reading the series and we adore the online component.
We heard Rick Riordan speak at ALAN in Philadelphia not too long ago and were impressed by his passion for young readers and for our educational system.
I’d love to win this set for my pre-service teachers to use in setting up real lessons for young readers.
I would like to win because my kids love books Luke these and these books would be perfect for them.
My son mostly likes non-fiction, which is not exactly something you can dive into and anticipate the next one. This is one of the few stories he’s liked so far, loves hearing about the different countries and will read ahead even though dad is reading this to the boys each night.

Oh how cool! Mister Man is so into mysteries and adventure. He’s just about finished all the Encyclopedia Brown books and is just starting the 39 Clues (we’ve read half the first one – errrr, HE has). Knowing how he powers through books and then wants to go back and reread his favorites, winning the series would save me a TON of trips to the library 🙂
I love this adventure series. I want this for myself and my boys will eventually be old enough to enjoy them as well!

We’ve had book 10 on Amazon pre-order for about three weeks and my daughter keeps asking when it’s coming. Good stuff!
I’ve heard of this book series and have seen it in the bookstores. My two boys have shown an interest in wanting to read these books. Thanks.

Wow! My kids love this series. My boys can’t wait to find out what will happen next. We are doing the curriculum guides from scholastic.com in our homeschool for a fun change for summer and my boys spend alot of their computer time clue hunting too. We have been getting our books from the library, but we would love to have the whole series in our home library.
My son loves adventure series and I am always looking for new books for him. These seem especially up his alley.
My oldest son really enjoys adventure books. He just finished the first Percy Jackson and loved it – so I’m sure The 39 Clues would be right up his alley!

I am a huge fan of the 39 Clues series and introduced them to our school library when they first came out! I have some of them and if I were to win, would donate the ones I have to school and then read the rest of the series and donate those books too! Thanks to you and Scholastic for a fabulous giveaway!
I recently blogged about how impossible it is to get my 9 year old to read. But he is enjoying the first book in this series, so I am filled with hope!
