We decided not to continue with Little League this year for my 8 year old, but I do remember from his last few years of participation how much work was put into the team organization. They used Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for the team roster and schedule. I put together another sheet on that spreadsheet to list who was responsible for snacks. Group emails were manually set up and there were no online areas for group discussions.
TeamSnap looks interesting because it is set up with all the tools needed to manage a amateur team:
(From the TeamSnap FAQ page): f;slk;lskd;lf
“TeamSnap makes it easy to manage your sports team online:
-Manage game and event schedules
-See who can attend which games (and who can’t!)
-Track team fees and payments
-Post messages for your teammates
-Email the entire team with a single click
-Track individual and team statistics
-View and post photos for the team
-Coordinate bringing drinks and refreshments”
Can’t wait for my 4 year old twins to play Little League or AYSO soccer, with tools like this communication and management will be much smoother.
