Giveaway – Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z All-in-one PC!

**Winner is LisaC. My3Sons33 Congrats! .

While gadgets are getting more mobile, I suggest every family have a Desktop PC. Desktop PC’s are budget friendly, have bigger screens then laptops and can do double duty as a “work at home” PC for work at home parents. Desktop PC’s also make it easier for mom and dad to keep an eye on what the kids are doing online – because if they are set up in the family room – they stay in the family room.

I recently had the chance to review the Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z All-in-one Desktop PC, which has become not only a valued family PC, but also a work PC for a “work at home mom” (i.e. ME!). 1. I would use the A70z as a kitchen/light office computer. It’s a great size for a counter-top PC, perfect for paying the bills, taking down notes, or getting directions. Also, at 19-inches, the screen is a nice size to read recipes off of or watch cooking shows over the internet or using the built-in disc drive.

  2. If I won, this would be my kids’ computer. For homework, games, and to learn to store and manipulate the pictures they take. The small footprint means there would still be enough room on the desk for paper homework!

  3. With 2 older students in the house, this would come in handy. I like the fact that you can mount it on a wall also. Would work perfectly in a small space. Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. My desktop died last night and I desperately need a replacement – I currently can’t work and I’m losing income :( The worst part is I haven’t had a job paying a decent income in 7 months, so I can’t afford a new computer. Vicious circle!

  5. I love that you can hang this on the wall! My decade-old PC is creeping not just toward obsolescense but oblivion. I still have a CRT, can you believe it?? So the ability to hang this on the wall over my desk would clear up some desk space I haven’t seen in over a decade! The extra work space plus the aesthetic alone would make me more productive.

  6. I’d use this PC as a media center in my bedroom instead of getting another TV.

  7. If I won this Lenovo, I would let me daughter take it to do her college assignments on at home …..instead of using the computers at the school library.

  8. If I won this Lenovo, I would let me daughter take it to do her college assignments on at home …..instead of using the computers at the school library. (Posted tweet first)

  9. I would like to have a small integrated media-center PC for music and video streaming, and the Lenovo A70z would be perfect for this.
    Thanks.

  10. My wife and I would use this in the kitchen as a unit to check email and schedules (family and work) while helping get the kids (3 & 5) ready for school and while were cooking anytime. Having it in there permanently would keep us from lugging our home laptop with the dying battery out. Add in the ability to fire up Epicurious.com and the kitchen will be even more fun.

  11. I could really use a new pc. This one is seven years old and slowly failing. I am a student in college studying the IT field. It would be nice to have a pc that has hardware virtualization and more than one processor for the virtual computers that we have to run for our schoolwork. Currently I am unemployed with no unemployment compensation and going back to school to better myself so I can get a job. I could really use a break from life and winning this competition would really do that for me. Thanks.

  12. It is just getting hard to work and embarrassing how old our family PC is….uh it has been so worked over and added onto eeks…it would be downright awesome to have a real PC.

  13. I am a university student of Civil Engineering and my laptop is struggling to run programs I need for my studies, not to mention the fact that it’s a few keys short of a qwerty. This would be a great computer for my small dorm-room desk!

  14. If I won this, I’d use it for general computing, and as a media machine. It would save a lot of space over the 17″ CRT I currently have on my desk, and give me more screen space.

  15. How would I use the Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z All-in-one PC?
Most likely this A70z model will become my regular desktop computer and my current desktop (slow & old) will be donated.
Thanks for the chance to participate!…

  16. I would use the Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z All-in-one PC as a family PC. We would use it to watch movies, shows, & other online media as well as create our own media to share with family & friends.

  17. I’m typing this on a Lenovo laptop right now. In the last ten years I’ve gone through eight or so desktop and laptop computers. The Lenovo is, easily, the most reliable and trouble free computer I’ve ever owned. I’m a published poet and would like a new computer with more spreadsheet capability. I specifically need to continually update agent addresses and phone numbers, addresses and contact information for literary quarterlies, acceptance periods, due dates, sent dates, rejection letters, myriad contacts, and all the other minutia that comes along with trying to publish. I’m not a tech person but I need more memory. Plus the space-saving option of the A70 is very attractive. Hanging the computer on the wall is appealing in a perverse way.

  18. Has the contest started then? I would love to have this hanging on my kitchen wall to keep my family calendar together and in one place.. such a hard time keeping all our schedules synched over various other devices/phones/calendars..

  19. This would be a “for personal use” computer only, used by me and any other family member I can’t outrun!

  20. If i win the lenovo, i would use it to replace my old laptop for manipulating photos and scanning in old family photos with my attached scanner. My kids can play with it sometimes. So it’s like a family computer.

  21. I would love to have it for home. Well more for school. The Desktop I have now is sooo old and has a bad temprament;{
I could imagine this baby loading faster, actually saving my homework and being able to use it on my time and not it’s!
    Thank you for the opprotunity!

  22. I would actully love it for home, well to use for my schooling. I went back to school and right now my desktop is sooo old and slow and has a very bad temprament;{ It would be nice to have it load faster and have it work on my time!
    Thank you for the opprotunity!

  23. I would love to have a desktop that is media and space friendly. I only have a laptop (it’s a lenovo though) and it’s screen leaves something to be desired. I don’t have a lot of room and something like this would be an ideal solution.

  24. I would do college assignments on at home …..instead of using the computers at the school library.

  25. I would use this to replace my slow unproductive computer I have right now. I wouldn’t throw it out though I would donate it to my father since all he does it check emails and visit forums. He doesn’t need all the performance like I do. I’m into photography and video editing and this Lenovo Think Centre a70z would truly help make that possible. I need to get the creative side of me back. It would help me with my freelance photography work that I have been putting on hold due to my computer being outdated and not able to support specs of newer programs and much larger files due to High definition videos.

  26. The big screen size would make it soo much easier to do research for my class papers. No more having to continually switch windows on my small laptop screen.

  27. I would donate my old pc and us this for my work. I would probably mount it on the wall, so I don’t have to worry about the kids spilling something on it. With all the extra space I would have, I could actually breath during work. It would be used to pay bills and write atricles. It would also be used to write a big thank you to techmamas…
    http://twitter.com/xnelec/status/17938222528

  28. I’d replace my laptop….the one with the wires hanging out, with the sticking ‘t’, with the attached extra monitor, and the two spare drives..and all the cables and wires that are driving me nuts!

  29. If I was lucky enough to win this PC, it will be used for the business I am starting. I have a 25 year background in Sales and Marketing, dealing with a lot of Start Ups and Entrepreneurs. My business, HumanFerret, will help new, mid life, entrepreneurs get their businesses up and running fast.
It is tough out there for a lot of mid life, experienced people who have lost their jobs. I’d like to help them get on their feet quickly and sell their products or services well.
Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway!

  30. I’d use the A70z out in the kitchen for various tasks. Easy access to recipes, personal finances, keep track of my work/task management. It’s all very difficult to do that when you have a tower unit the size of the Empire State Building that has one and only one place in the house that it can go because of the size constraints.
    Tweeted: http://twitter.com/horntm/status/17945995549

  31. Didn’t like the options so I created my own,
I work everywhere. It’s habitual: I look for ideas about film in peoples faces; I watch birds; I listen intently to how people chew; little idiosyncrasies that create characters are found everywhere. I study my craft and remind myself every day that I am not a writer but a storyteller so I had better learn all the skills it takes to tell the story. I’m trying to find money to start a business, much like everyone else, but even with an edge – I grew up with a business or two in the household an was hired by 2 corporations to represent business, pushing new ideas is not EZ. Wanted: a monitor for film that travels.

  32. I’d use it at home. I’ve been trying to do video editing lately, but my old computer won’t even play hd.

  33. I would love to win this desktop. It would be a great hub for my home network. I have three kids and our current computer is old. The motherboard and power supply died last year but I was able to install new ones but its doesn’t work as well (it always boots up saying no operating system so you have to press ctrl-alt-delete).
Also I am working with a friend to start a community foundation and this machine would be a great help to see it come to fruition.

  34. I would be able to use a space saving computer like the (a70z) in my dorm. I hate using the old library computers!

  35. I could really use this. My computer is about to crash and burn any moment now. I use it for everything from work, blogging, to entertainment and my family cannot live without one. This one is perfect. All in one- love it.

  36. Our schools are cutting the creative classes next year. So I am starting an Art and Photography classes for kids ages 4-17. Having an extra Reliable computer would be amazing for the kids to be able to back their work up on. Or to use for homework and extra stuff. The community I live in is mostly lower income families that more than likely do not have home computers. Our schools only have two open computers that all the kids have to share. Thanks for the chance to win.

  37. This would be amazing – we have one netbook at my house (for 2 computer loving nerds) and when I’m on call in the evenings (i work in health care) i often have to physically fight to use it to look up patient info! If I had a desktop, it could be kept in a private area – and save so much stress. Thanks for hosting this contest!

  38. Would love to rock this computer! I currently use a Lenovo Thinkpad — I love it (it’s actually my second one) but I could definitely use a bigger screen for all of the design work I do.

  39. I would use the A70z in the basement to stream in media feeds and share documents with the rest of the home through a home network

  40. This computer would be perfect in the kitchen for us. We would use it for recipes, but more importantly, we would use it for Sesame Street youtube clips to entertain the children while dinner is being prepared (or while we’re trying to get anything done). I just may buy one regardless :) .

  41. i would use this as my kicthen computer i would love to post it on the wall in the use it for recipes while cooking.

  42. I would use this to replace the 5 year old desktop PC we currently use. Our current desktop is very, very slow, so slow it is almost painful to use. My children insist it it too slow to use for their schoolwork, so they use our laptop, and I am stuck trying to update my blog and track our finances on our old, slow desktop.

  43. I would use this new PC to provide RELIEF to all the running gadgets in my office, I swear my current setup is like the Frankenstein of computers with wires so thick this has gotta be a fire hazard!

  44. This computer would be used for so many things, it would be hard to name them all, so just a few:
    1. Help with home Bible Study for 6 teenage boys.
    2. Help organize pictures for home craft business.
    3. Help kids with homework without hassles.
    4. Help husband prepare for teaching job and sermon preperation.
    5. I’ll just be honest, help with the family watching Netflix…just saying.

  45. I’d be using it for work and pleasure – small home based arts and crafts business. It would be replacing an old computer that became a total brick last week!

  46. I’m soon moving to New York, to begin a PhD program in Biomedical Sciences. I’m also getting married, and that means two people in a small, small space (it’s going to be wonderful, but certainly cramped). Neither of us owns a desktop computer at the moment, instead we have rapidly aging laptops. With a solid, powerful, quiet desktop like this one, and two new iPads (on the wedding registry, fingers crossed) we’d be absolutely set to be connected at school, and have a powerful machine for more computer-intensive tasks (and Hulu watching, on that massive screen). This computer would make an already exciting couple of months exponentially more awesome!

  47. I would definitely be using this as a family computer. We desperately need a new one. It would serve for everything pleasure and school. Thank you.

  48. I am a doctoral student who is slowly but surely killing my 8 year old desktop. I begged a friend to put in additional memory, but the system is so slow and freezes regularly. I’m trying to get my proposal written so that I can defend it this summer, but progress has been slow with my ancient system. Help!

  49. I would love to win this for my son who is starting college academic upgrading very soon. This would make life so much easier for him.

  52. My laptop is almost 5 years old. With education dept piling up, it’s hard to find extra money to buy a new one. This new computer would be a life saver!

  53. I would greatly benefit from this computer as an aspiring photographer, because my 10+ year old Dell Inspiron is really slow at starting Photoshop and other photo editing programs. I’d like to have a new computer because I’m in need for a new one that keeps my desk clutter free. As a photographer, there are many cables, hard drives, etc that are on my desk. One less monitor on my desk really saves room.
I’d love for a chance to use this Lenovo computer.
    Thank you!

  54. I’d love to either give it to my sister who is going off to college, or keep it and replace the PC we have….that’s missing keys and keeps getting slower by the day. Thanks for the chance!

  55. I’d think about replacing a bedroom TV that is hooked up to a small computer. This would be much cleaner

  56. I run a small business as an independent bookseller. This Lenovo looks perfect for my needs. I need to keep track of buyers, auctions, estate sales, travel arrangements, hotels, rental car agencies, sales, inventory, and the like. Plus I require reliability and I heard the Lenovo line is very reliable. I have a small table for my workstation now and this A70 would clear the decks and get rid of the clutter. tyvm.

  57. I would use the lenovo for personal and family use, particularly for school work.

  58. My entry is at very basic, the plight of many moms. I have 6 kids, 12,11,10,8,6 and a new born. The oldest 5 all need computers for school work, never mind the desire to use it for pleasure. I have a 5 year old lap top for my use and a 7 year old almost dead Dell for the kids. More and more I have to give up the laptop to the kids. Computer knowledge is mandatory is today’s world. I am fearful that my kids lack of computer skills will penalize them later.
I also have to tell that the fighting over computer time to driving crazy. So for the sanity of this over stressed Mom I would like you to consider this entry.

  59. Thanks.

  60. This would allow me to use my laptop as a truly portable computer instead of as a living room computer.
We would use this space saver in the living room to check up on web sites in ads, play family games and such.

  61. I would love to use this as my own personal desktop for university as my current desktop is quite dated…9 years and 1 month to be exact.

  62. i would use this computer to moving into the living and re connect with my family. It takes up so little space.
    twittered @maple_65

  63. This would be a perfect computer to set up in the dining area for common use. Quickly and conveniently being able to check email, check up on family and friends on Facebook, do other tasks and have a little fun.

  64. the first thing i would do if i won is toss my old piece of *^&#%$ Desktop in the Dumpster :) and use the Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z All-in-one for Work and LOTS of Play ;) i would finally be able to play some high graphic games!

  65. I would love to try out the all-in-one Lenovo. It has many features that would help me out in my day to day activities, including doing my budgeting and bill paying, maintaining a recipe book, etc. — but without all the clutter associated with so much paper. very ‘green’
    tweeted: @TechMama and @lenovosocial, “http://bit.ly/bTiQZe” and hashtag “#A70z”

  66. If I won, I’d use this computer to replace my 10 year old computer, which I cannot afford to upgrade with a mountain of student loans that I need to pay off.

  67. I would love to use this PC for myself. As a blogger I spend so much time on the computer that the rest of my family rarely gets a chance to use it. It would be nice to give my PC to the family so my son would have a place in the living room to research for school and I could use the Lenovo for my blogging. Plus it would be a major space saver considering my home office also happens to be my bedroom.

  68. Wow, what an amazing giveaway! If I were to win this, it would be a dream come true. This would be my home computer that I would periodically do my work on. My current main computer is a netbook and while I do love it’s portability, it lacks a lot of power and really makes doing the things that I need it to do extremely time consuming when they shouldn’t be. This would make my life so much easier. Also, I would love to get a better computer so I could try my hand at editing family videos and I think this would be a perfect start. Thank you so very much for the chance! :)

  69. My husband and I are currently working on opening a care home for developmentally disabled adults. If I won this Lenovo A70z giveaway, I’d use this computer for our business as the space in the care home for our office is actually just a corner area in the living room. Of course we have to have a computer for the business as there are lots of notes, reports, care plans, objective data collection sheets and so forth that need to be produced. I definitely want to make the best most efficient use of this small office space and I certainly don’t want it to look cluttered. Therefore, I think that the Lenovo A70z would be the perfect computer for our particular business situation.
Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  70. I would use this Lenovo as a central family computer for storing media and school files. I am back in school as is my son and daughter; this system would be fabulous for homework and research for all of us.

  71. I would use this to replace my 8-year-old machine. I’d be able to take my Flip videos and make CDs for the grandparents. Thanks for the contest.

  72. I would use the Lenovo mostly for personal use (unless my husband commandeered it to use in the teaching of his math classes somehow). I have a vision of hanging it on the wall in my kitchen and using it for looking up recipes (my current method involves running to the computer room to check stuff and sometimes I risk getting sidetracked in the midst of meal preparation), watching or listening to downloads while doing tedious prep work, etc…I can think of a few other uses, but risk boring you to tears if I listed them all.
    Thanks for offering this giveaway!

  73. My husband, my daughter and I can never get enough individual time at the computer…because we only have 1! Having another computer would helps us immensely because the computer is our life because we have no television (by choice)!

  74. It would be used for family entertainment, it would be easy to set up games and watch videos with how portable it is.

  75. I would love this computer for my blog and freelance PR business I am starting up. I would also love it for my kids to be able to learn how to responsibly use the computer for education purposes and a big screen like that would be great for my girls and my bad eyes.

  76. I would use this to help start a website for my boyfriend’s used car dealership to help bring in more business.

  77. I’d love to win this PC as a dedicated computer for my kids to do their homework, term paper research, etc. That work bogs down our other computer many times throughout the year! Thanks for the contest!

  78. I need a new computer to get my website for my art going, the one I have now is old and dieing and need to be taken out behind the shed so someone can do the right thing.

  79. If I won this, I would give it to my sister, or use it to replace my current computer and give my old computer to my sister. I have to have a computer for my photography business, and my sister is in need of a new one as hers is about 7 years old.

  80. The sleek, modern and clean design would leave a little room on my small desk for family pictures. Sometime you just need a reason to sit at that desk for hours and pictures of the kids having fun will help do that.

  81. It’s hard to explain why someone would want a free computer because everyone do wants one , rather it be new or old. Me in particular is in a desperate situation for a new computer because of educational situations. The reason why I’m in need of a computer at the moment is to deploy it for educational purposes. I need a computer to write out and type out all of my essays and documentations that I will be doing over the course of the next three years in college. I have made it through one year without a computer of my own in college. For the past year , I have been turning in late or incomplete reports to my professors because I don’t have a computer of my own at my disposal. For the paste year , I have been using the Public Library’s computers to type and print out all of my reports , essays , and documentations.
With the Lenovo A63 computer system , I will probably be able to actually finish my reports on time and turn them in on time.As a Matter fact , I’m confident that if I win the Lenovo A63 Computer system , I’ll be able to search for a job online and make some money while attending college. With this in mind , I can guarantee that my friends won’t look at me as a “outcast” if I win the Computer system because I’ll have a computer , just like them. I know the possibilities of me winning the system are slim but I really do hope I do.
Thank You for reading this ,
    Henry

  82. The Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z All-in-one PC would replace a very old desktop. We would use this pc to watch movies, tv shows, surf the net & would be an awesome addition to our household.

  83. Were I the lucky winner, I would use the PC for personal and business purposes. I am a self employed graphic artist. Unfortunately my current machine just can’t handle the programs that are essential to my success: Photoshop, Illustrator. For personal purposes I love that this can be hung from the wall, I could use it as my media center, too, as I don’t have a TV (Back to the whole broke artist thing) Thanks so much for the chance to win this!

  84. Mac person here, but I have many friends and family who are Windows users who would find visits here much easier if they could access their e-mail and such using their “home” OS.

  85. I would use this computer both for household(myself) and business my husband. The one we currently have is old, slow, bulky and temperamental. Something innovative and space saving would make everyones life much simpler.

  86. This would replace a large 10-year old Dell that takes up lots of space in the kitchen. And it’s a beautiful machine. Almost everything in my kitchen is black or wood. That Lenovo would look sooooo pretty.

  87. If I were lucky enough to win, I would use the ThinkCentre to get my etsy store back up and running. Currently we have 2 broken PCs and a laptop on it’s last legs. Just being able to edit photos would be a huge step up from my current situation.

  88. I’d give this to my husband, who just started his own law practice (in addition to working full time as a programmer) and is still using his old laptop that takes 20 minutes just to start up!

  89. If I won this space saving PC, I would set up a small space to use it in our bedroom. Currently, I have a computer desk in the baby’s nursery because I need the desktop computer to do graphics work, but it is too big to move anywhere else in our house. I maintain several websites and a blog, so this computer would be a real blessing.

  90. I already have a pretty nice gaming system so I will be giving this to my mom who is using my hand me down dell which is very old and slow. She is a computer technician yet she uses a crappy computer…

  91. First, let me say Thank you for this awesome giveaway. The Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z looks like one great Computer.
This would be an answer to so many issues in our home. Their our six of us and one computer. So that alone would be a huge help. Being able to help in HomeSchooling my children which they will begin, for the first time, in September would be awesome. I could start the Blog that I have been wanting to, but have been unable to because of my unreliable PC.
We, also, live in a small 3 bdrm. city home and the space that this would save would help in my quest to become more organized.
Again, Thanks for the opportunity and great review. (Awesome pictures!)
    rsj2000mrs@gmail.com

  92. Winning this computer would be a godsend to me and my wife. She is going back to school and our current desktop is just too slow for her school work. With this new system, she can finally do her work at the comfort of the home rather than at the library where it is either too hot or too cold. As for me, I am learning how to be a graphic designer and this computer would greater aid me in that quest.

  93. Our TV just died a very sad, slow death and I would love to use this as a media center. We are currently watching all things video on my 15 inch laptop screen which is unfortunate and I would love to get my work computer as far away from grubby kid hands as I can (yea for a wall mounted computer!).

  94. I tweeted about the giveaway as Kashmir2 and I am following you on Twitter.

  95. My husband and I are starting a new business and our present computer is OLD, Old, OLD and SLOW, SLOW, SLOW…this would be such a welcome addition!!! Thanks!!

  97. If I won this wonderful system I would have my old XP Pro refurbished and send it to my sister-in-law in Florida. She doesn’t have a computer! Can you imagine?!

  98. [Tweeted @ArcyEm] Techmamas.com Giveaway – Lenovo ThinkCentre A70z All-in-one PC!

  99. I desperately need this computer! My current computer is an old Dell still running Windows XP & it has a DVD Rom problem where the drive wont open and it is slow as molasses, It’s our home internet wi-fi provider and we can’t setup a netwrok that can share printers because there’s something wrong with it, but we can share internet. This computer will solve all of our problems and headaches at my house.

  100. I would use it to replace my only PC at home. It’s at least 5-6 years old and can no longer handle all the current software and applications. So it’s defintely in need of an upgrade.

  101. I would use this computer everyday, I have a photography class at my high school so having this computer i can photoshop at home other than having limited time to photoshop at school. I am not the only one who will be using this computer if i win, my family will be very greatfull if we were chosen to win. and i swear i wont use this computer for evil :P

  102. Hi there. I really need this computer to help make my life as a college student easier. Right now I am using a desktop that I bought eight years ago because my newest one was stolen while I was walking back to my apartment one night. Unfortunately, I can afford a new one because money is very tight for me right now. So I have no choice but to use an old system that lags after one hour of use. This is driving me a bit crazy. To make sure that I don’t go crazy, I prefer to use the computer at the school library. That means a lot of the time, Ihave to stay overnight at the library to finish my projects. So as you can see, winning this computer would be a blessing to me.

  103. This would probably go to my 14-year-old to keep up with her homework. She’ll be in high school this fall. We currently have to share my laptop, which leads to disgruntled feelings on both sides.

  104. For the past few months, I have been actively engaged in providing assistance to teachers at an elementary and a middle school (I have taken a year from school so that I can do things that I couldn’t possibly do while I am in school). I am able to go between these two schools because they are located very close to either other. As I was there to help them with school work, I also tried to create a fun environment for them to learn. So far, there are limits on what I can do because my laptop, though reliable, doesn’t have the power to do what I would it to it. So winning this computer would greatly further my efforts in education. I can share with your some of the things I wish to do with this new computer, which if I do win will mounted at the back of the classroom. First, as the students work on their assignments, I would be able to use the computer to play soothing classical music that I find to be quite helpful in absorbing materials. And every once in a while, I can play movies that I have downloaded to these kids by connecting the computer to the tv in the room.

  105. I want this computer because me and my brother can use a computer like this, and this will be awesome if we put it in our room… the computer would be used to play some games and we can also watch youtube videos, basically this computer will mainly be used for entertainment… but when school starts it can be also used for essays and projects. Thanks!

  106. I think this would be great for my son who is starting college in the fall, he could use it for all of his projects & homework. I’d love to use it for surfing the web and keeping organized. Thanks for the chance to win!

  107. I would use this computer to make my husband happy by giving it to him as a gift.

  108. If I win I’d use this computer mainly for my business. I have a few software loaded onto my outdated computer. But it has caused my PC to freeze up and run extremely slow. Very frustating indeed :(

  109. I would use this computer in replace of my ancient one that is about to crash. I am running my husband’s campaign for prosecutor, I have NO IDEA what I am doing, and I am positive this computer would help me in all kinds of sanity saving ways. Thanks!
