Most nights I have to fight off many types of electronics in an attempt to have a quiet family dinner. I have to remind my 8 year old that there are no iPod’s, computers and TV shows allowed during dinner. I can’t imagine what would happen if my kids had cell phones or video games. Even I have to put my BlackBerry far away so I can’t hear it vibrate with new email messages. What happened to old fashioned dinner table discussions and low-tech family games?
Tonight, my Father and Step-Mother were over for dinner when my 4 year old brought over his Lego Mosaic creation. Lego Mosaic’s have small multi-colored lego pieces that fit on small square boards. Suddenly, my husband, eight year old son and my 60-something Step-Mother were also doing their own Lego Mosaic’s. They even discussed the inspiration behind their creations.

Mom, my lego creation is not a city. It is a relaxing place that people can come and relax at. They lie down under the umbrellas, and there is a pool there also. And there is sand around that they can lie in.
